Hello to All CR Fans!!
I had the GREAT thrill and pleasure to actually meet Anna Lacazio and Clive Wright in 1998! I was trying to set up an online interview with the two (which, unfortunately never materialized). However, they drove up to see me and find out "what's up".
My webmaster called me and said I had some "visitors" waiting for me that I would be MORE than happy to see! I can tell you I was shaking with excitement when I saw that Clive (who I had been originally communicating with) brought the illusive and beautiful Anna Lacazio with him! WOW!! The three of us then went to a local small bistro for lunch, and discuss the band.
We then drove to my house (after first buying a bottle of wine) and proceeded to chit-chat further about CR. I found them both to be "real" people and very "down to earth" in there comments. Clive brought his lap-top computer and showed me a few old clips he'd had of CR on American Bandstand, and others. Great stuff!!
Anna was gracious and "wonderfully intriguing" and quite open and revealing in her remarks about Peter, and CR. Everyone agreed Peter was a genius! This was, of course, prior to the current reformation of CR, and we were there primarily to discuss "what was". During lunch, Clive asked if I'd like to "jam" with them!! Although I was a drummer for about fifteen years in the San Francisco music scene of the '70's, I had sold all my equipment years earlier, so I had to pass on that offer!! Yikes!! I may have become the next CR drummer! Oh well.
They both smiled broadly when I pulled out my CR albums! I now regret I didn't have them autograph them! But it proved I was an avid fan and supporter. We listened to a few audio clips Clive had and they listened to a few things I played to them. I was still so excited at having these two great musicians in my house, I had to use all my "coolness" to act "normal". Actually, I felt like we'd been friends for years! They were that warm and open in there remarks and behavior.
After nearly three hours (!!!) visiting at my house, they departed. I shook Clive's hand, and gave Anna a big hug and told them how great it was to have them pop up for a surprise visit. Although CR had been disbanded for years, at that time, I wished them the best in future endeavors. It was one of those moments you remember forever....meeting two of the original founding members of CR. [/img] |
